This goes to show you just how deadly the vocation of journalism can be for the investigative reporter. Early on, numerous media outlets were tying this story to the Your Muslim Bakery franchise located in the Bay area. I think it is imperative that Islamic moderates, whether African-American converts or those of Arabic descent speak out against these kind of violent acts. The irony is that whether you're Daniel Pearl overseas or a reporter in the hood, your life as a journalist could be cut short in quest for a story. Check out more about this update from CNN.com:
